Professional career

The main focus of my studies in psychology at the university of Potsdam from 2001 until 2006 was in clinical psychology. After graduating with the diploma in psychology, I began my post graduate education in psychological psychotherapy at the center of psychotherapy of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. As part of this education, I worked for over a year in the outpatient clinic of the Charité Mitte. This gave me the opportunity to work with patients with a wide range of symptoms (e.g. depressions, anxieties, substance related and addictive disorders, schizophrenia, borderline disorder, pain disorders) and of varying age. I led groups with patients (e.g. addictive disorder group, depression group, social competence training) and their relatives (bipolar disorder). At this time, I also worked as a coach for clients in life crisis and with troubles in working behaviour. In addition, I served as a research assistant for a project concerning user experience in electromobility. Already during my post graduate education I developed an interest in further developments of the cognitive behavioral therapy approach, especially with regard to the schema therapy and mindfulness-based treatments, which were intensified due to the feedback of patients. I completed my Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat.) in the field of obsessive-compulsive disorder in 2014. Since 2014, I have worked as a lecturer in couples therapy at the center of health of the Freie Universität in Berlin. Since receiving my licence as a psychological therapist in 2011, I have worked in private practice in individual therapy, couples therapy, coaching and counseling.

I am always striving to integrate the newest advancements in psychotherapy into my work through further educations and advanced trainings and seek to ensure the quality of my work through continuous supervision and intervision.
